Os pais de alunos das escolas estaduais serão avisados quando seus filhos faltarem muito às aulas. De acordo com comunicado da Secretaria de Estado da Educação, quando o estudante atingir 20% de faltas em relação ao ano letivo, os pais ou responsáveis serão comunicados pelas escolas.
A Vara da Infância e o Conselho Tutelar também serão avisados sobre as faltas do estudante. "A notificação é importante para que os pais sintam a responsabilidade pela educação dos filhos e acompanhem o desempenho deles na escola. Esse acompanhamento é muito importante para a melhoria da educação paulista", diz a secretária de Estado da Educação, Maria Helena Guimarães de Castro.
A iniciativa obedece à lei, sancionada pelo governador José Serra, que entrará em vigor em dois meses.
